[INSPIRE] My 53 Greatest Nigerians Of All Times


In no particular order, here is my own composed list of 53 great people (dead and alive) who have made Nigeria proud. People in different sectors such as sport, politics, movies, music and so on.

THEY ARE GREAT LEGENDS...

1) M.K.O ABIOLA (late) - (August 24, 1937 – July 7, 1998), was a popular Nigerian Yoruba businessman, publisher, politician and aristocrat of the Yoruba Egba clan.

2) ATIKU ABUBAKAR - (born 25 November, 1946) is a Nigerian politician, businessman and philanthropist. He was 11th Vice President of Nigeria.

3) WOLE SHOYINKA - (born 13 July, 1934) is a Nigerianwriter, he was awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize in Literature, the first person in Africa and the diaspora to be so honoured.

4) ALIKO DANGOTE - (born 10 April, 1957) he is a Nigerian self-made business magnate. Dangote is ranked by Forbes Magazine as the 43rd richest person in the world
and the richest man in Africa.

5) Obafemi Awolowo (late)

6) YAKUBU GOWON - (born 19 October, 1934) was 3rd the head of state (Head of the Federal Military Government) of Nigeria for 9yrs.

7) NNAMDI AZIKIWE (late) - (November 16, 1904 – May 11, 1996) 1st President of Nigeria,he was the 3rd Governor-General of Nigeria,1st President of the Senate of Nigeria.

8) GANI FAWEHINMI (late) - (22 April, 1938 - 5 September, 2009) was a Nigerian author, publisher, philanthropist, social critic, human and civil rights lawyer, politician and
a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)

9) FELA KUTI (late) - (15 October, 1938 – 2 August, 1997) pioneer of Afrobeat music, human rights activist.

10) KING SUNNY ADE - (September 22, 1946) is a popular performer of Yoruba Nigerian juju music.

11) KANU NWAKWO - (born 1 August, 1976), one of Nigeria's greatest players.

12) AUSTIN JJ OKOCHA - (born 14 August, 1973) is a Nigerian former footballer.

  4. Where is d Snr Aguyi Ironsi(wat qualified his son as great) where is d man ADEKUNLE FAJUYI revered byyoubas and igbox alike even by majority of those on ur supposed list?
