Inspire | Wake Up Call To “Leaders Of Tomorrow”

I received this piece as a broadcast and I feel my readers should read it as well. It is not my work, and you are also free to copy and share. Thanks.

In 1983, Bamanga Tukur was the Governor of the defunct Gongola State (now Adamawa and Taraba). And 30 years later, he is today the Chairman of the ruling Party, The PDP.

Dr. Bello Halliru was Commissioner in the Old Sokoto State (now Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara). And 33 years after, he is today the Minister of Defence.

Major General David Mark (rtd.) was the military Governor of Niger State in 1984. And 28 years later, he is today the Senate President.

Gov. Murtala Nyako was the Governor of Niger State in 1976. And 36 years later, he is today the Governor of Adamawa State.

Ogbonnaya Onu was Governor of Abia State in 1992. 20 years after, he is today the National Chairman of ANPP.

Gov. David Jonah Jang was the Governor of Benue State in 1985, and 27 years after, he is today the governor of plateau state.

And Martins Elechi, the Ebonyi State Governor, is over 80 years old!

Only in Nigeria is this possible, where the YOUTH of today have no hope into the FUTURE! Where do we go from here? People Deceive People (PDP)!

1985, IBB was the President of Nigeria and our teachers told us that Buhari was the former Head of State. Our teachers also called us “the leaders of tomorrow” … 27 years later, IBB and Buhari were still contesting for Presidency; it is either our teachers lied to us about being the leaders of tomorrow or tomorrow is yet to come. Who is fooling who? Some of us ran out of the country but Obasanjo went abroad chasing them; telling all nations to deport Nigerian youths.

Let us stand and fight for our right because we are the leaders of Today… Please, let all youths come to an alliance and fight for the unborn. We can't continue like this. Pass this message to everyone if you believe in the NIGERIA DREAM.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I signed it. Will you do the same by sending to all your contacts? Then put me in the copy of your broadcasting.

I hope the spread of messages like this motivates the youths to rise up and take their rightful place in the country. However, my major concern is the difference to expect when the youths eventually do—rather positive than negative—because having very talented, creative, younger but negative minds running affairs will bring the country nothing but mega doom. Fact remains that the age range of leaders is but a minor change to make a positive difference in Nigeria; the major change needed is US. We need to keep a positive, united and selfless mind—even the old will automatically know their place—and we can then talk of a better Nigeria.
