With my over
ten (10) years and counting experience, it won’t be wrong to conclude that aside
meeting people (for different purposes), wasting time, creating useless and
aimless emotions, having lucky flocks, and burning money/data/airtime, another thing
Social Network assisted this
generation with are acronyms.
In the
beginning was ‘LOL’ and I really
love the creativity. When the white girl on the other end told me the meaning;
I was thrilled. That was so many years ago and evolution is fast taking place
that even ‘lol’ now comes as ‘lols’ (Did I write that? I meant ‘looooooooool’
or ‘lolsssssss’ — we should consult IFA
for meanings, I think). Now, we even have different levels of the ‘lol’ like lmao, lmfao, lmfbasoh… till I saw
rotflmaoh (where did they all come from though?).
Well, I’ll
like to drop some below for people who are still wondering what these new-age acronyms mean:
BRB — Be
Right Back (don’t be alarmed; people still ask what this means).
GTG — Got To
Go (seriously, do people ignore when they see this or they don’t just know what
it means? Why do they still don’t stop their boring convo?).
SMH — Shake
My Head (this really gave me a tough time to crack; others who are still in
that darkness can use this lantern now).
HBD, LLNP —
Happy Birthday, Long Life and Prosperity (This is the worst of them — wishes in
acronym — better not post anything because I may swear for you if you post
these on my Timeline as my birthday greetings).
WC(B) —
Welcome (Back) (how many of you knows this? Only mig33 users will).
Well, Naija
didn’t come last, they came up with LWKMD(4H),
or do you want me to tell you the meaning?
But here, I
discovered a fresh package of acronyms, just for my readers:
FWM: Flock With
Me (this is popular).
SMD:
Shake/Shuck My Dog (you can make this popular too).
SMA: Shmack
My Assh (something from shexting, I
believe).
FMH: Flock Me
Harder (err… no explanation).
D(F)PMO:
Don’t (Flocking) Piss Me Off (please don’t)
FMFTBD: Flock
Me From The Back Deep (this is the coolest, especially when it is oral).
FFFFFFFF: Flock
Flock Flock Flock Flock Flock… or what else did you think that means?
